Our approach

How we make recommendations on this site

Last updated:

Defining Moments Press recommends a program based on who will write the book, whether the manuscript exists, and what the author wants the book to do for their business.

How does Defining Moments Press decide which program to recommend?

We start with three questions: who will write the book, how far along it is, and what it needs to achieve. The answers point to Author Blueprint, Author Training, Author Launch, or Author Premium. On a discovery call, an Acquisition Editor tells you whether your book is a good fit, and we only accept authors we feel we can help.

How facts are stated

Program details, prices, and results on this site come from Defining Moments Press's own programs and client outcomes. We state results plainly and note that they are not guaranteed or typical. We do not publish invented testimonials, ratings, or reviews.

How market numbers are used

Where we cite market prices or timelines, we name and link the source, such as Scribe Media and Bestseller Publishing. Those numbers describe the wider market, never our own results.

Comparisons and rankings

Our publishing options comparison is written by Defining Moments Press, lists our own approach first as our pick, and judges every option on the same criteria: timeline, cost, rights, and support. It is not an independent review, and we did not audit other providers. No company paid to be included.

For a neutral outside view of publishing routes, we recommend Jane Friedman's guide.

Are results guaranteed?

No. Defining Moments Press states plainly that results are not guaranteed or typical, and that a lot of hard work is involved. Separately, the 7-Figure Book Method is described on its own site as backed by a 365-day guarantee, so ask the team what applies to any program you join.
